Class Information

Tricks, Fun, Agility, and Canine Good Citizenship
You and your dog can earn trick titles and the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certificate which is a precursor for the Therapy Dog class. In addition to tricks and fun agility, some of the skills you will learn include:

• Heeling by your side
• Sit-Stay & Down-Stay with harder distractions and distance
• Come despite harder distractions and distance
• Go to a place on cue (from a distance and for longer duration)
• Calmly greet another dog team and other items on the CGC evaluation

(Dog must have completed Basic Manners class and be a "green light" or a "yellow light" dog with permission)

Class space is limited. Your registration fee of $120 includes a series of 4 classes. Please note, cancellations prior to the first class day will receive a refund minus a $10 administrative fee. Cancellations on or after the day of the first class will not receive a refund.

Michael Burkey, professional canine behavior specialist will be conducting this class at the Humane Society of Huron Valley. Michael has worked with HSHV over the last year helping us with shelter dogs that needed a little assistance.

Circus Class is held from 6:15pm to 7:10 pm

First Week - January 3, 2013
Second Week - January 10, 2013
Third Week - January 24, 2013
Fourth Week - January 31, 2013
(No class January 17)

Is Your Dog Ready for Group Training?

To determine if your dog is appropriate for a group class setting, compare your dog to a traffic light.

GREEN LIGHT= safe with all dogs and people. 
YELLOW LIGHT= friendly with people but use caution when around other dogs.
RED LIGHT= potentially dangerous toward other dogs and/or people.

The Feisty Fido Rehab class is perfect for "yellow light" dogs. All other classes are designed for "Green Light" dogs.

"Red light" dogs are not yet ready for a group class and are best served by private instruction with Michael.
