Calling all animal lovers between the ages of 12 and 17! The Humane Society of Huron Valley is offering a 6-session Junior Volunteers Club to help youth engage in and learn about some of the fantastic volunteer opportunities at our shelter!

Working alongside our Humane Educator, Volunteer Coordinator and a mentor volunteer, youth in the J.V. program will attend six volunteer training sessions in which they will learn different procedures, policies and safety precautions for working with and caring for animals. Each session will consist of a 45 minute volunteer training program and 75 minutes of onsite volunteer time.

Included in the six sessions will be administrative office support, puppy socialization, cat comforting, shelter pet photography and videography, customer care and shelter cleaning support.

Registered youth who attend all six sessions will receive twelve hours of volunteer time, which can be used towards required community service hours. Upon completion of all six sessions, certified Junior Volunteers will have opportunities to volunteer at HSHV!

A $55 donation is required to reserve your spot in this 6-session program and can be made either online or in person.

This session is on Wednesdays, 4pm-6pm on the following dates: May 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, June 6th, 13th

After registering, you will be given a link to fill out a volunteer application. The application includes a waiver, which parents must agree to in order for the teen to participate.
