Group Volunteering - Morning Day of Service
|
Is your group, organization, or business looking for a way to give back to the community? Join us for our group volunteering Day of Service program. This volunteer opportunity can accomodate groups of up to 20 people maximum, age 18 and older. Offered monthly, our three hour volunteer program includes education about HSHV, a shelter tour, an adoptable dog meet and greet and 2 hours of volunteer time.
Fee: $10 per person, due at registration. Program fees cover the cost of materials, background checks, staff time and help to support the work of HSHV. When is it offered? Our program is held monthly and morning (9:30-12:30pm) and afternoon (1:30-4:30pm) sessions are available. What's Included: Our program provides a shelter tour, education about HSHV, a dog meet and greet and 2 hours of volunteer time. Light snacks as well as coffee and water will be available. What Volunteer Work is Included? Volunteer assignments for the Day of Service program are based on shelter need at the time of the program. Typical assignments include adminstrative work, landscape support, mulch spreading, cleaning and more! While we work to accomodate all volunteers, we do recommend that volunteers are able to lift up to 20 lbs. Please note that besides the meet and greet portion of the program, volunteer assignments will include very little interaction with animals. Who Can Attend: Our program can accomodate up to 20 people, ages 18 and over. We welcome groups that may include adults who have cognitive or physical impairments. To ensure everyone has a fun, successful day volunteering with us, we ask that caregivers or a person of support attend with any adults who may need extra assistance. Unfortunately we are unable to accept Court Ordered volunteers for this program. For groups under the age of 18, please visit our humane education group programs for more opportunities.
What to Wear: Day of service volunteers should wear comfortable clothes that are okay to get a little dirty. We also require closed toed shoes, even in the summer months. Volunteers should dress for the weather as some of the day may be spent outdoors (weather permitting).
Cancellations: Cancellations received more than 60 days prior to your scheduled date can be refunded in full. Unfortunately, any cancellations made less than 60 days before your group's scheduled date are non-refundable. Those less than 60 days before the scheduled program cannot be refunded. Date:
