Class InformationDoes your dog have difficulty getting along with other dogs? If so, a Feisty Fido class is the place to be! Bring a hungry dog and plenty of dog treats to the first class. Please bring verification of your dog's vaccination records (DHLP, Rabies & Bordetella) as well. Aggression is usually a "heightened inappropriate sense of defensiveness" or a willingness to retain a resource. Basically, the dog is stressed and is trying to protect itself or guard its resources the only way it knows how to; whether that be by cowering, growling, snapping, lunging or biting. It has two options, to fight or to flee. A stressed dog may use its teeth to accomplish either intent. However, when one looks at aggression for what it really is, then you're in a position to be able to help your dog move from a reactive state to a calmer thinking state of mind and therefore, exhibit more controllable and desired behavior. Class space is limited to 4 dogs. Your registration fee of $180 includes a series of 4 classes. Michael Burkey, professional canine behavior specialist will be conducting this class at the Humane Society of Huron Valley. Michael has worked with HSHV over the last year helping us with shelter dogs that needed a little assistance. You can learn more about Michael and his expertise in dog training. ScheduleFeisty Fido Class is held from 8:15pm to 9:00 pm First Week - April 26 Is Your Dog Ready for Group Training?To determine if your dog is appropriate for a group class setting, compare your dog to a traffic light. GREEN LIGHT= safe with all dogs and people. The Feisty Fido Rehab class is perfect for "yellow light" dogs. All other classes are designed for "green light" dogs. "Red light" dogs are not yet ready for a group class and are best served by private instruction with Michael. Date:
