Deer Cull: City Council Vote
|
Ann Arbor City Council will be holding a public hearing after which they will vote on the proposed deer cull, which would hire sharpshooters to kill up to 300 deer in our neighborhoods and parks during the winter of 2016. As a no-kill organization who has a responsibility to humanely care for all animals in our community, we are working hard to educate citizens and the City Council on effective non-lethal methods that can be used to manage the conflicts that have been reported. Please join us in attending -- and if you support non-lethal methods, wear the color red. Residents can also speak at the meeting for 3 minutes each, though a simple statement of your belief (e.g., "I'm in favor of non-lethal methods") can be effective, too. If you can't attend, you may want to write a quick email to your City Council reps voicing your opinion.
